# Spend gate

A spend gate is a policy check on a proposed advertising action. It may block work or require approval based on the configured rules and qualifying evidence.

## Is passing a spend gate the same as execution?

No. Passing a check or receiving approval does not prove that the provider applied the change. Execution and provider verification are separate stages.

## Can modeled data justify passing a gate?

No. Modeled data must not feed spend gates or kill switches. Evidence used for enforcement must satisfy the applicable qualification checks.

## Does a spend gate cover every source of spend?

No. A gate is a control at a decision boundary, not a guarantee about every provider action or future spend. Its coverage and the provider's execution result must be checked separately.
