# An AI agent for your Meta ads, with approvals built in.

Use the AI agent you already know to review your Facebook ads and propose pauses, daily-budget changes and creative tests. Plainrouter connects it to your Meta account, checks each proposal against policy, and waits for your approval in Ask mode.

## From your workflow to Meta

### Your agent

Ask for a review of the account you select, with evidence behind each recommendation.

### Plainrouter MCP

Read account context, retained metrics, the creative library and stored tracking diagnostics.

### Proposal and policy

Preview a supported change. Policy checks it; Ask mode waits for your approval.

### Verified Meta change

Follow execution and verification. New ad copies are created paused; a separate resume can activate them.

Ask requires approval for each policy-allowed change. Full runs policy-allowed changes automatically. A submitted proposal is not proof of execution, and a verified change is not proof of better performance.

## What Plainrouter adds

### Works with the agent you already use

Connect Claude, ChatGPT with OAuth, Codex or Cursor. Setup guides also cover Gemini CLI, Grok, Meta Muse, Hermes, OpenClaw, n8n and Make. Follow the guide for your client; no new Plainrouter chatbot to learn.

### Approvals, limits and a way to stop

Choose Ask for per-change approval or Full for permitted automatic execution. Rule violations are blocked, and every action keeps a decision receipt. The kill switch stops further changes, including queued work; it does not undo changes already made.

### Read the evidence before changing spend

Review account state, retained campaigns and metrics, creative assets and stored conversion-signal health together. Check freshness and missing data. Tracking diagnostics help expose measurement problems; they do not prove a campaign is profitable.

## What your ads agent can do today

### Pause and resume

Propose a pause or resume for a campaign, ad set or ad you select. Execution still depends on current permissions, policy and Meta state.

### Change daily budgets

Propose an increase or decrease for an eligible campaign or ad set daily budget. Lifetime-budget changes are not supported.

### Prepare creative tests

Stage a JPEG or PNG image, or propose a duplicate of a selected source ad with an account-owned creative. New ad copies are created and verified paused, so creating one does not start spending.

### Preview before proposing

Use dry\_run\_actions with Write access to inspect supported changes without saving a proposal or writing to Meta. Review any unavailable evaluations; a preview does not authorize execution.

### What stays with you

These account-management actions are a focused workflow, not unrestricted access to the Meta Marketing API. They do not create audiences. You select the targets and choose your offer; the agent cannot bypass policy or guarantee better results.

## Is this a fit for your setup?

For founders, developers and marketing teams already running Meta ads who want help reviewing evidence and preparing bounded changes. Start with a Read key and Ask mode rather than handing an agent unrestricted control.

### When your existing setup is enough

If you only need the automation built into Ads Manager, use Meta’s own tools. If you are still choosing an offer or building your first campaign, do that work first. Plainrouter connects an existing agent to supported account workflows; it does not replace your marketing strategy.

## How your Facebook ads AI agent works

### Try the sandbox

Follow your client’s setup guide to connect without an account or token. The sandbox uses synthetic data, stores nothing and never contacts Meta; it does not demonstrate live ad changes.

### Connect Meta with Read access

Connect your Meta account in Plainrouter and create a Read workspace key. For OAuth clients such as ChatGPT, sign in and choose the active Meta ad account and Read access instead.

### Ask for a read-only review

Ask your agent to review retained account metrics and tracking health, identify missing evidence, and explain recommendations without changing your ads.

### Enable proposals when you are ready

Switch to Write access and keep Ask mode for per-change approval. Select a target, preview a supported change, then review its proposal in Inbox. Check the decision receipt and execution result afterward.

## your Facebook ads AI agent FAQ

### What is a Facebook ads AI agent?

A Facebook ads AI agent uses advertising tools to read account data and suggest or carry out supported tasks. With Plainrouter, your existing agent connects to Meta through MCP: it can review evidence and propose changes governed by your workspace policy. It is not an ad agency or a replacement for your offer and strategy.

### Can an AI agent run my Facebook ads on its own?

In Full mode, Plainrouter queues policy-allowed, supported changes without per-change approval. Ask mode requires a person to approve each change first. Both modes enforce account access and policy, and the kill switch can stop further writes. Full mode does not give the agent unrestricted control of your account or guarantee better performance.

### Is it safe to give an AI agent access to my ad account?

Start with Read access, which cannot propose or preview Actions. Workspace keys are limited to one workspace, with account-selection checks; OAuth sign-in binds the chosen active Meta account and Read or Write access. Use Write with Ask when you want proposals. Revoke access when it is no longer needed; revocation does not undo past changes.

### Which AI agents work with Meta ads?

Plainrouter has connection guides for Claude, ChatGPT with OAuth, Cursor, Gemini CLI, Grok, Meta Muse, Hermes, OpenClaw, n8n and Make; Codex setup is on the MCP page. Configuration and client availability vary. Meta Muse uses a protected custom connector rather than a universal MCP configuration. Use the guide for your client and confirm an actual account read.

### How is this different from Meta’s Advantage+ automation?

Advantage+ is Meta’s automation inside Ads Manager, including audience and creative automation. Plainrouter connects the agent you already use to account evidence and supported proposals, with workspace policy, Ask-mode approval and decision receipts. It does not replace Meta’s ad-delivery system or promise to outperform Advantage+.

### How is this different from Meta’s own Ads MCP?

Meta hosts its official Ads MCP server at mcp.facebook.com/ads for its own advertising tools, including reporting and ad management. Start there if you only need Meta’s tools. Plainrouter is an independent option that adds workspace-scoped access, Signals diagnostics, policy checks, Ask-mode approvals and decision receipts around its supported workflows. It does not replace Meta’s ad-delivery system.

### Can my agent change budgets or test new creative?

Yes, for supported daily-budget changes and creative proposals under current policy. It can stage JPEG or PNG images and propose copies of selected ads with a selected creative. Copies start paused; activating an eligible copy requires a separate governed resume. Lifetime-budget changes and video-upload execution are not supported.

### Does the agent see live performance and fix broken tracking automatically?

Retained account metrics and Signals diagnostics are stored observations, not a fresh Meta performance report. The creative library reads Meta assets. Review data freshness and measurement gaps before a recommendation; tracking diagnostics do not automatically fix delivery or establish campaign-level profitability.

### What does it cost?

Agent access and MCP are included in every Plainrouter pricing band, and MCP calls are not metered. Plainrouter is free below €300 of observed ad spend in the previous calendar month. The synthetic sandbox needs no account. Your AI client’s charges and Meta ad spend are separate; check pricing for the current bands.

## Start with a review, then decide what to change.

Try synthetic reads first. Connect your Meta account with Read access when you are ready, and enable Write with Ask only when you want to review real proposals.
