# Meta Ad Image Checker

[Open the browser tool](/tools/meta-ad-checker) to inspect an image before preparing a Meta ad. No signup is required. The file, filename and results stay in your browser; the tool does not submit an ad.

## What it checks

- Whether the selected file has a JPEG or PNG signature and can be decoded.
- Source pixel dimensions and file size.
- The image area removed by a centered fill into a square, portrait or full-height working canvas.
- Whether filling that canvas would enlarge the original.

The local processing limit is 20 MiB and 50 megapixels. These are checker limits, not Meta's published upload requirements.

## Working canvases and review margins

The available design examples are 1440 × 1440 (1:1), 1440 × 1800 (4:5) and 1440 × 2560 (9:16). They are working canvases, not Meta's minimum resolution or acceptance requirements.

Set custom margins for the top, bottom, left and right edges. Each starts at 10% and can be adjusted from 0–40%. The shaded area is a design aid, **not an official Stories or Reels safe zone**. Download an SVG of the margins to use in your design file, then hide it before exporting the ad. The SVG does not contain your image.

The browser preview uses a centered crop. It does not reproduce Meta's interface or automatic creative adjustments. Check the actual placement and objective in [Meta's Ads Guide](https://www.facebook.com/business/ads-guide) and Ads Manager preview.

## How to use it

1. Choose a JPEG or PNG image.
2. Select a working canvas and inspect the crop and source resolution.
3. Adjust review margins to your brief and inspect the headline, logo and other important content.
4. Download the optional margin SVG or clear the image.
5. Review the final creative in Meta before publishing.

## Limits

This version does not validate video, inspect ad policy, infer text legibility, assess account eligibility, resize the image or guarantee approval. A matching aspect ratio is only one preparation check.
